Job Summary:

Are you an experienced Technically Savvy Product Manager who also has a Project Management background, driving teams to deadlines and outcomes?  Do you also have some background in product startup techniques from 0 to 1?  This role manages, plans, and coordinates the development of new products, enhancements of existing products, and technical solutions based on short-term and long-term needs. Develops product strategy. Determines reasonable roadmaps for new products and product enhancements considering priority, customer needs, financial limitations, staffing requirements, and availability of resources. Ensures outcomes and key results are accomplished and in line with business and customer needs. Owns KPI development for the products, including analyzing qualitative and quantitative user feedback and experience analytics to help drive product decisions, improvements, and growth.  Interfaces with customers to determine opportunities for product improvement and translate complex needs into features and user stories. Can conduct and drive a solid product or design workshop.  Collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors to define, design, and deliver new products, technical solutions, and enhancements that work cohesively and meet the needs of the company, its clients, and the end users. Coaches sales team, operations, and customer service on all information necessary to communicate with customers. Drives product adoption.  Contributes to go-to-market planning, product training, seminars, and presentations. Helps develop and maintain product documentation, product instructions, and user guides. Coordinates with researchers, designers, developers, and testers at times assuming the Product Owner role. Owns backlog prioritization and planning.  Communicates product improvements to stakeholders and key customers. Work cross-functionally to drive improvement around the way we work leveraging Lean, Agile, and Design Thinking to minimize waste and maximize value. A natural problem solver who puts the consumer front and center, can work amidst ambiguity, and will roll up their sleeves to get the job done. May attend tradeshows, technical conferences, and symposiums to promote the product. May provide customer support in escalated cases.  Help drive product excellence by leveraging modern and appropriate product management practices, processes, and tools.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Product management experience with 0 to 1 products with a proven track record of successfully leading the concept creation, discovery, and delivery of a given product
  • High familiarity with sales platforms, product catalogs, and sales teams.
  • High technical aptitude in application development, modern frameworks, libraries, and architecture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong matrix management and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with software development lifecycle management tools like Jira
  • Experience influencing teams in a matrix management environment with a demonstrated record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong ability to manage, prioritize, and sequence work to achieve critical deadlines.
  • Deep familiarity with the Product Discovery process
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and ability to champion agile methodologies
  • Practical knowledge of hypothesis-driven experimentation
  • Extensive experience conducting or participating in user research
  • Experience with digital analytics tools for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Startup, scaling, and/or transformation experience preferred
  • Experience with B2B and B2C products preferred
  • Familiarity with advanced Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) preferred
  • Familiarity with Portfolio Management preferred

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.

At least six years of related experience is required.

Certified Scrum Product Owner or similar preferred.  Previously holding a PMP is also a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of working on a computer. 

Occasional travel.
