Product Manager, Supply Chain

Our client is a software startup looking for a Product Manager to own its supply chain vertical, end to end. You'll sit at the intersection of manufacturing, supply chain, and product management: someone who is as comfortable walking a factory floor and talking shop with procurement leads as they are writing a spec or prototyping a workflow. You'll turn complex operational realities into software that people on the floor and in the supply chain office actually want to use.

Responsibilities:

Own the supply chain roadmap. Define and drive strategy for procurement, inventory management, traceability, vendor management, and BOM/MRP modules within the platform.

Get close to customers. Visit factory floors and sit down with supply chain directors and procurement leads to understand their real pain points and let those insights shape product decisions.

Bridge domain and engineering. Translate complex hardware supply chain logic into clear specs, wireframes, and functional prototypes, and work closely with engineering to ship quickly.

Build it yourself. Use AI-assisted tools to prototype rapidly, run data queries, work with APIs, and occasionally push code alongside the engineering team.

Align the organization. Partner with engineering, design, customer success, and sales so that supply chain features deliver measurable ROI and smooth customer onboarding.

Iterate with data. Analyze inventory flow metrics, user behavior, and customer feedback to validate hypotheses, measure feature impact, and keep improving outcomes.

Experience:

Background in manufacturing or supply chain operations (factory floor, procurement, inventory, or logistics)

Prior software engineering or hands-on coding experience, before or alongside PM work

Product management experience shipping features end to end, from research through launch

Skills:

Deep knowledge of procurement workflows, BOM/MRP, inventory allocation, and traceability

Logistics

Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles at least 3 days per week

Baseline Qualifications:

Experience: 3-10 years in product management, supply chain operations, or industrial/manufacturing engineering

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, supply chain, or a related technical field

Technical skills: 

Able to build functional prototypes and write technical specs from complex domain logic

Soft skills: 

Strong cross-functional influence, with a track record of aligning engineering, design, sales, and customers

Nice-to-Have:

Experience in advanced hardware sectors such as aerospace, defense, energy, robotics, or automotive
