Description

MySQL is an open-source relational database management system (RDBMS) that’s used to store and manage data. Its reliability, performance, scalability, and ease of use make MySQL a popular choice for developers. In fact, you’ll find it at the heart of demanding, high-traffic applications such as Facebook, Netflix, Uber, Airbnb, Shopify, and Booking.com.

Although MySQL rose to prominence nearly three decades ago, it shows no sign of fading and ranks as the second most popular database overall, second only to Oracle Database, according to DB-Engines. MySQL is versatile enough to underpin a wide variety of applications, from small personal projects to enterprise-level, business-critical systems, and it’s backed by a large and enthusiastic open-source community.

We seek a dynamic and creative world-class Product Manager with expertise and passion in delivering best-in-class open-source database MySQL and drive the community adoption including On-premises and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Β

The role requires strategic thinkers who are curious and excited about both participating in and shaping the next phase of the IT Operations market, with strong technical fluency (these are technical products) but also an interest in making products easier for real humans to use.Β  This position requires collaboration with many stakeholders, so strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as is a desire to work with a diverse set of people.

Β 1 – 4 years of engineering / product management / technical sales experience, preferably in enterprise computing, with strong familiarity around computer networks, cloud technologies, virtualization, data center infrastructure; familiarity with MySQL databases as a DBA is a strong plus
