Job Summary: The Insurance State Product Manager role at American Collectors Insurance oversees the growth and profitability of the collector auto insurance program, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement pricing and product changes at a state level. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, able to translate analytical, regulatory and competitive information into a strategic plan, and can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate and implement that plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, recommend, communicate, and execute product strategies to improve profitability and market share our collector auto product.
  • Partner with pricing actuaries in the rate review process, and provide direction based on market intel, underwriting input, and product performance to influence pricing proposals.
  • Monitor the marketplace for emerging opportunities and identify competitor and industrial changes impacting the effectiveness of the current product offers and pricing position.
  • Work with data modelers and others to evaluate opportunities to create, evaluate, and refine predictive pricing models, and monitor to ensure models are favorably impacting business lines.
  • Monitor regulatory environment to ensure product compliance.
  • Deliver effective presentation of product plan changes and product performance.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a personal auto product manager performing responsibilities outlined above.
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, finance, business or equivalent.
  • Critical thinker with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven history of taking initiative and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organized, detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel.
