Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Product Manager is responsible for managing new building materials accounts from the office while working in conjunction with Outside Sales Representatives to maintain and grow existing accounts in an established territory. They are responsible for educating the distribution chain on all features and benefits of assigned product line(s). This position is also responsible for managing inventory maintenance, developing and maintaining relationships with sizeable accounts, as well as creating demand with the downstream participants (general contractors, dealers, distributors, and key influencers) in the market area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a full-time position. Normal days of work are Mondays through Fridays. Shift availability may vary. Hours may need to be extended or adjusted at any time, with or without notice, to meet the needs of the organization.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
β’ Prospect via phone, email, and other methods to meet established sales goals as set by Sales Management
β’ Proactively identify, contact, and cultivate new business opportunities while conducting high-level conversations with key buying personas; uncover business challenges and identify relevant new business opportunities for prospects surrounding OrePac offerings and partnerships
β’ Engage phone prospects in data-driven, consultative dialogue about OrePac product offerings; actively listen to client responses and ask relevant questions to determine how OrePac can help them meet their own sales goals
β’ Collaborate with Sales management to assist in the development of personal call strategies and messaging, driving more opportunities for new business
β’ Actively contributes to the success of the Sales channel by participating in relevant annual, quarterly, and weekly business planning activities including opportunity management and attainment of sales goals
β’ Maintain customer relationships with new and assigned customer accounts
β’ Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of OrePacβs pricing structure and services
β’ Follow-up on all generated quotes to assure that the customer is being serviced and to anticipate the potential opportunity to earn the business
β’ Demonstrate and introduce new products, services, and developments to established accounts
β’ Participate fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building, sales presentations, and professional development classes
β’ Process cancellations or changes in sales orders and communicate the changes with the appropriate departments
β’ Coordinate and resolve customer concerns, including delivery errors, short shipments, and returns of the damaged product
β’ Develop an effective and productive working relationship with product management, Operations, Corporate staff, and personnel in neighboring branches Coordinate sources of supply to obtain the most economical purchases possible.
β’ Responsible for finalizing and issuing purchase orders to assigned vendors for designated product lines on a daily basis. Review supplier confirmations for accuracy related to order details, specifications, branch information, pricing, quantities, and expected delivery dates. Complete oversight for samples and displays for assigned product lines, working with the branch sales team to understand and determine the needs of each market within the sales region.
β’ Evaluate the dependability and resourcefulness of suppliers and competitive quotations, placing orders to OrePacβs best advantage.
β’ Maintain responsible and accurate records with regard to purchasing, pricing, and deliveries.
β’ Develop and maintain catalog price pages on assigned product lines. Collaborate with the Corporate Pricing Manager as needed or upon request.
β’ Verify quantity and quality of stock received from suppliers, authorize payment of invoices or return of merchandise, and inspect exchanged or refunded merchandise.
β’ Locate new sources of supply while keeping abreast of changing trends in prices and availability of materials. Provide product information to staff and recommend necessary action(s) to ensure a continued flow of materials to meet inventory and sales requirements.
β’ Recommend policies and procedures for purchasing functions in adherence to company-defined best practices.
β’ Communicate regional marketing opportunities with the Sales Manager (trade shows, publications, seminars).
β’ Advise the Sales Manager of margin/profit opportunity, and meet standards for quality, fill rates, inventory turns, and gross margin as established by the Sales Manager.
β’ Attend assigned supply chain-related conference calls held throughout the month and provide a detailed summary to the branch leadership and sales teams.
β’ Partner with the Sales Manager and sales staff to develop a forecast and projections to be provided regularly to the Corporate Supply Chain team.
β’ Maintain knowledge of the local market. Share market-specific information regarding the competitive landscape and opportunities regarding assigned product line(s) with the Sales Manager.
β’ Play an active role in developing, updating, and facilitating training for the Authorized Dealer network.
β’ Review and audit receiving paperwork. Work with the Corporate Supply Chain team to resolve and correct receipt discrepancies in the system.
β’ Communicate with the mainline sales team about upcoming jobs and possible customer needs.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Prefer Bachelorβs degree in any field and five to seven yearsβ experience in a sales and supply-chain related position or another position similar to what is described above with product line and sales oversight and inventory planning and control in a distribution environment; or any combination of education, training or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
