Job Type: Full-time

About the Company

Our client is a growing financial technology company helping accounting firms, family offices, and institutional investors turn complex tax documents into accurate, structured data. Its software uses artificial intelligence to simplify document processing, reduce manual work, and support reliable financial workflows.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on AI Product Manager to help bring AI capabilities, agents, and document extraction features into customer-facing software.

You will partner with the Head of AI, engineers, tax experts, and other product managers to turn business needs into clear requirements and deliver working solutions. You will own the AI roadmap and backlog, guide priorities, and stay actively involved throughout development and release.

This role also supports platform initiatives involving APIs, vendor integrations, and connections with other software. The ideal candidate combines strong product management skills with practical experience delivering AI-powered products and enjoys working in a growing company where priorities evolve.

Tax expertise is not required. Internal subject matter experts provide tax guidance; you will translate that expertise into product requirements and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the AI product roadmap, balancing customer needs, business priorities, technical dependencies, and team capacity.

  • Manage the backlog, write clear requirements and acceptance criteria, and work with engineers through planning, standups, development, testing, and release.

  • Partner with AI engineers to deliver AI agents, document extraction capabilities, and other AI-powered features across product lines.

  • Collaborate with the platform team on APIs, vendor integrations, and connectivity with other software.

  • Prioritize requests for new document types, forms, fields, and capabilities from Product, Tax Content, Sales, and Client Success.

  • Define and report product accuracy, including extraction quality, coverage, manual corrections, and the effort required to produce usable results.

  • Establish customer and business requirements for model and vendor decisions, including accuracy, cost, latency, and release readiness.

  • Coordinate release scope and timelines, accounting for seasonal demand and annual tax-year updates.

  • Partner with product managers and UX to improve how users review and correct AI-generated output.

  • Communicate priorities, decisions, trade-offs, and progress clearly across technical and business teams.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated product management experience delivering B2B software from requirements through launch and ongoing improvement.

  • Experience working directly with AI or machine learning teams and bringing AI-powered capabilities into production.

  • Strong hands-on skills in backlog management, prioritization, requirements development, capacity planning, and release execution.

  • Working understanding of AI/ML evaluation, including precision and recall, evaluation datasets, model performance changes, and inference costs.

  • Ability to translate business needs and subject matter expertise into actionable engineering requirements.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to business stakeholders.

  • Ability to adapt, manage competing priorities, and take ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant results and demonstrated capability matter more than a specific number of years of experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Fintech, banking, financial services software, or regulatory technology.

  • Document AI, data extraction, large language models, AI agents, or ML platforms.

  • API-based products, software integrations, or platform product management.

  • Startup or midsize company environments requiring broad ownership and hands-on execution.

  • Evaluating whether to build, purchase, or replace AI models or vendor services.

Benefits

  • Fully remote opportunity

  • Unlimited vacation policy, sick time, and holidays

  • Paid parental leave

  • Healthcare benefits

  • 401(k)

  • Opportunity to help shape AI products within a growing technology company
