Job Overview
BD Performing Arts (BDPA), a 501c-3 non-profit organization, is the global leader in pageantry and the marching arts. To sustain and further its tradition of innovative excellence, BDPA has an aggressive vision for the future of the performing arts. BDPA is searching for a Technical Product Owner to help realize this vision with information technology and AI. The Technical Product Owner will address the vision and strategic execution of BDPA’s diverse technical needs. This role will be responsible for the overall management of internal and external applications, systems, and websites from a user experience perspective.
This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States however, the work hours will be in the Pacific time zone with core hours from 8:00a to 5:00p. No third-party agencies, please. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000.

TECHNICAL PRODUCT OWNER/MANAGER
Responsibilities
- Drive requirements gathering through user research of a wide variety of users and stakeholders
- Own the translation of stakeholder feedback and research results to define stories, and use that information to prioritize the feature backlog
- Manage offshore development team to maximize productivity and efficiency while maintaining the technical integrity of features and architecture
- Manage day-to-day activities and support testing and release schedules
- Maintain product road maps for the different software platforms, both third party and proprietary
- Collaborate with partners within and outside BDPA to further innovate offerings and help the business succeed with technical tasks of all kinds
- Report results to executive management on a regular cadence
- Work experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management
- Professional experience with software development teams and modern software development processes such as SCRUM and AI-assisted coding
- Progressive vision for AI, including coding (Claude code preferred), agents, security, and responsible AI is necessary
- Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle
- Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies
- Team oriented with excellent communication abilities
- BA or BS in the social sciences, marketing, computer science or a related discipline or equivalent experience desired
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification desired
- Passion and knowledge about pageantry, marching music, or other performing arts is desired but not essential
- Event management business or software experience is a plus
