ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION:

  • For Service, Technical Support, Marketing & Sales Roles:Β Additional compensation is available through either an Incentive and/or Commission Plan.

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking aΒ Service Product ManagerΒ to join our corporate team. This position will focus on ensuring that Shimadzu products are properly supported and serviced. The Service Product Manager will oversee the repair, maintenance, and installation processes for assigned products, while also providing training and technical guidance to personnel. This is a key role in bridging the corporate office with our field teams to ensure that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Lead and support teams in the repair, maintenance, and installation of Shimadzu products.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to personnel, enhancing their troubleshooting and service skills.
  • Manage service-related documentation, track repairs and failures, and recommend improvements to products.
  • Oversee parts inventory and ensure field teams have the necessary resources to perform services efficiently.
  • Collaborate with product development, technical support, and sales teams to optimize service operations.
  • Develop and implement business plans, set goals, and manage resources to achieve service excellence.
  • Travel occasionally to support complex service issues and engage directly with customers.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in repairing Universal Testing & Non-Destructive Inspection Machines or similar instruments.
  • Strong technical background in troubleshooting and servicing scientific instruments.
  • At least three years of experience managing and training service teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support service operations.

Compensation & Benefits:

This full-time, exempt position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 paid scheduled holidays and 3 paid floating holidays. After one year of employment, you will also be eligible for a generous short-term disability program with the company covering 100% of monthly premiums.

The starting salary range for this role is $116,000 to $118,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Additional variable compensation includes an incentive plan based on company and service performance, paid semi-annually in April and October. A year-end discretionary bonus may also be awarded based on overall company performance.
