Every vehicle that changes hands across the vehicle lifecycle depends on one thing above all: knowing whoβs on the other side of the transaction. As a Product Manager II on the Vehicle Custody team, youβll own the ongoing direction and maintenance of our Identity Verification (IDV) solution β the layer that confirms the identity across every digital vehicle release, transfer, and pickup. You wonβt just manage a backlog. Youβll help define how identity is verified at scale β evaluating authentication methods, fraud and risk signals, and how IDV integrates into Secure Vehicle Transfer and other custody workflows β while directly reducing fraud exposure and friction for the people moving vehicles every day.
WHAT YOUβLL DO
Own and evolve a high-impact, high-scrutiny problem space. Youβll drive product management for Identity Verification within Vehicle Custody β a domain where security, fraud prevention, and user experience all have to hold together. Youβll work alongside experienced PMs, security and fraud partners, and operators to keep the offering current as authentication technology and risk patterns evolve.
- Own the ongoing roadmap and direction for Identity Verification, balancing security requirements, fraud risk, and user friction and needs
- Lead discovery efforts β conducting research, engaging with field and driver-side users, and evaluating authentication approaches, vendors, and risk signals against real-world custody workflows
- Groom and maintain a well-defined backlog β translating validated problems into clearly written features and user stories that engineering teams can act on
- Leverage fraud and risk data, customer feedback, and operational data to identify enhancement opportunities and emerging threats
- Define and track KPIs for Identity Verification (e.g., verification success rate, fraud incidents, drop-off/abandonment), monitoring results and flagging when outcomes are trending off course
- Partner with security, fraud, UX, data and analytics, and engineering teams to ensure IDV solutions are well-specified, feasible, and grounded in real user and risk needs
- Guide how Identity Verification integrates with adjacent Vehicle Custody workflows, including Secure Vehicle Transfer, Digital Vehicle Release, as well as other Cox Automotive products
- Assist in the development business case documentation and product collateral to support prioritization, vendor evaluation, and stakeholder alignment
- Use AI to accelerate discovery, experimentation, and development, and recommend improvements
- Adopt AI tooling and employ a mindset and focus on how to think about and approach work in the PDLC
- Share learnings openly β contributing to a discovery culture that values transparency, iteration, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with PMs and cross-functional partners on the release train to stay aligned and avoid duplication across problem areas
- Supports product issue / problem resolution
WHO YOU ARE
Youβre a Product Manager who is curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating where security, fraud, and user experience intersect. You ask good questions, take feedback well, and are motivated by seeing your work reduce real risk and friction. You understand that Identity Verification sits at the center of trust in Vehicle Custody β and you use that context to help shape direction, not just execute against it.
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field and 2 years of experience; or a masterβs degree and up to 2 years of experience; or 6 years of experience in a related field with no degree

- Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodology
- High integrity; focused on execution, building partnerships, and striving for excellence in everything you ship
