Product Manager for E-commerce

At Conway & Co we're looking for a Product Manager for E-commerce to join our team.
Full-time Β· Conway & Co HQ

TL;DR

  • We’re a boutique technology & product consultancyΒ on a mission to build amazing digital experiences for our consumer commerce clients;
  • As a PM, you’ll join in a pivotal role to deliver on an impactful project, as well as help build our clients’ product capabilities;
  • We’re urgently looking for someone to join, as we have an exciting client & project lined up;
  • You’ll join a product-obsessed team of experienced founders and expertsΒ who have been building and scaling e-commerce companies for 20+ years.

This is Conway

We’re Martin, Jons, and 7 other product-obsessed builders. After CTO and CPO roles at Suitsupply, Ace & Tate, and others, we decided to team up and help ambitious tech-enabled companies solve meaty problems. We figure out how to wow their customers with new digital experiences, we teach them to become more data-driven, and how to build smooth software.

We work with exciting clients between 20M-150M in revenue, ranging from telehealth platforms to direct-to-consumer brands. We’re proud to have the trust of their C-team, which means we get asked for their most impactful projects.

We’re based in Amsterdam, with our team and clients spread out over Europe.

Why you should join us

  • Small team = accelerated learning;
  • A product-led culture with an obsession for quality;
  • Hybrid culture, with 2 on-sites each year;
  • Direct coaching from CPOs who have seen both Big Tech and start-ups;
  • The non-consultant consultants. That’s what clients appreciate: we’ve been in their shoes.
  • With direct access to the C-team of our clients, we are trusted for the most impactful projects.
  • We work with clients with a European or global footprint;
  • Internationally diverse team.

Summary

As a Product Manager, you build the best possible digital experience for our clients’ customers, together with the strong cross-functional teams of engineers and designers. You deliver measurable business & end-customer value, while leaving a lasting impact on the organizations you touch.

You pride yourself on being able to quickly dive in and understand a problem. You research, interview, and synthesize, to co-create an inspiring vision. You then work directly with engineers, designers, UX researchers, and all relevant stakeholders to bring that into reality.

You’re a β€œsituational leader”, and not afraid to switch styles, depending on the context & client. Whether it’s taking a role as β€œCEO of the product” or stepping in as a hands-on Scrum Product Owner, you know that the result counts - and you’ll do whatever it takes to realize it.

You are ultimately responsible for client happiness. That goes well beyond delivering features; you build new capabilities for the organizations you help. You get a kick out of creating a legacy that last beyond the time scope of your project.

In the meantime, you work closely with the other PMs and CPOs on the Conway-team, to constantly improve your craft - and have fun doing it.

Responsibilities

  • Define and/or synthesize the product strategy and roadmap by understanding end-customer & client needs;
  • Inspire your team, and the client, with an exciting vision;
  • Co-create the detailed requirements, and execute on them with the cross-functional development team;
  • Lead across the lifecycle of a project, from the initial client pitch, to defining a vision, to managing day-to-day execution;
  • Ensuring great delivery of projects, features, and most importantly, value;
  • Collaborate smoothly with your client’s stakeholders - including C-level - and reporting as often as needed;
  • Set up a measurement and/or experimentation strategy, and analyze results;
  • Talk to end-customers and working with UX researchers to understand the problem;
  • Leading by example, and teaching your stakeholders to build the capability internally.

About you

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in developing software and/or digital experiences as a Product Manager or (senior) Product Owner;
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a B2C or scaled B2B e-commerce; you don’t blink when you hear terms like CVR, CAC, CLV, and transaction margin;
  • You have a Master’s degree in Business, CS, or another relevant field;
  • You have experience working with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and data analysts;
  • You have the confidence and executive presence to work directly with senior leaders in 20-200M revenue companies;
  • You’re comfortable working with 5+ stakeholders on the client side, keeping all of them aligned on expectations with proactive communication;
  • You’re based in the Netherlands, and are OK to occasionally travel to clients’ offices in Europe;
  • You are data-driven to a fault, and have very strong analytical skills to back that up;
  • You get up-to-speed quickly on new domains, and feel at home in a new team within days instead of weeks;
  • You write well.

Bonus points

  • You have a CS degree and/or taught yourself to code;
  • You’ve been a consultant or freelancer before;
  • You’ve founded or run a webshop in the past.
