As a Professional Services Product Management Director, you will be responsible for monitoring the K-12 education market landscape, identifying innovative ways to engage and energize teachers as learners in increasingly high-tech schools, defining a professional learning product vision that supports teachers using HMHβs teaching and learning solutions, and developing effective go-to-market strategy. Our ideal teammate will maintain constant focus on product-market fit, will have experience working agilely and collaboratively across stakeholder groups, and will be an articulate champion for teachers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Results-Oriented Business Planning
- Drive vision, business plan, and offering strategy for a portfolio of high-quality professional learning solutions
- Define market and business requirements for new digital solutions that satisfy customer needs and revenue/profit goals.
- Leverage research (competition, academic, customer, etc.) and data (usage, efficacy, etc.) to define strategic vision, set goals, measure key results, and support delivery of high quality products
- Deliver key results on schedule, on budget, and in line with customer needs and corporate goals
- Oversee cross-functional teams to execute against plans
- Liaise across internal stakeholder groups (e.g. sales, engineering, product development, marketing, research, etc.) to collect and synthesize feedback, manage/align project schedules, and motivate teams
- Research and report on market trends, competitive issues and products, and the customer problem space to stakeholders as directed
- Make recommendations for revisions and extensions of existing solutions, including product customization, new components, and pricing model

Product Evangelist
- Create and maintain strong, ongoing channels of communication with sales force and other functional areas within Services and across the company.
- Serve as a primary line of business expert across the HMH organization
- Provide active support for the sales and revenue enablement process
- Assist with key customers

Portfolio Life Cycle Management
- Manage product lifecycle from initial conceptualization through authorization, development, launch, maintenance, and sunsetting
- Analyze financial performance of an assigned portfolio, including investment, revenue, and profitability
- Analyze and evaluate market performance and product positioning of an assigned product
- Benchmark performance of an assigned product against competition and market; implement pricing plans in line with product strategy

Marketing Strategy
- Work across Product Marketing teams to plan go-to-market strategy for professional learning solutions
- Identify product positioning strategies. Partner with Product Marketing, Revenue Enablement, Sales teams to ensure proper competitive positioning for product or solution.

Requirements:
- BS/BA in related discipline with approximately 7+ years of related industry or functional experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex new product launches and/or large-scale transformational initiatives
- Exceptional presentation skills, both in person and online
- Technical background; experience with technical product management and/or Agile development methodology
- Knowledge of the K12 Core, Supplemental, and Professional Learning Market
- Proficient use of Smartsheet, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Highly organized

- MBA or Masters strongly preferred--preferably in Business Management, Education, or Marketing
- Experience in developing and/or delivering K12 EdTech professional learning solutions
- HMH Product knowledge

Physical Requirements
- Might be in a stationary position for a considerable timeΒ (sitting and/or standing).
- The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
- Availability to travel: less than 10% of the time

Benefits and Salary Range:
Salary Range: $108,000 - 135,000 plus bonus. Our salary ranges are based on national averages.Β We have wide ranges so we can be flexible and determine compensation based on a number of factors including the candidateβs skills, experience, education and location.
