Overview

The Business & Industry Copilot group (BIC) is a rapidly growing organization responsible for Microsoft Copilot Studio, the Power Platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Industry Solutions, and more. Microsoft is a leader in business application SaaS, and this org sits at the heart of how those applications are designed and delivered.Β

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to join the Intelligent Actions teamΒ in Microsoft Copilot Studio!Β You will set the long-term vision for how Copilot Studio agents and automations can do more with intelligent capabilities, and drive that vision across divisional boundaries with senior engineering, design, data science, and partner leaders.Β

This is one of the fastest-moving areas at Microsoft. The Intelligent Actions team is at the forefront of making AI agents and workflows more capable, building the intelligent primitives: agentic nodes, AI prompts, MCP integration, computer use (CUA) and more, that let customers compose sophisticated agents and automations in Copilot Studio.Β

This is a Principal PM roleΒ for the age of agentic AI. You will not just write specs,Β you will set the agent strategy, build prototypes with AI tools, and bring a builder's mindset to every layer of the product. We want someone genuinely energized by agentic AI: reads the latest agent research, has opinions about planners, tool use, evals, and memory, uses AI every day to do their PM job better, and turns that fluency into products customers love.Β

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.Β

Responsibilities
  • Own the product roadmapΒ for intelligent actions and agentic capabilities in Copilot Studio. Define the vision, prioritize investments, and align the roadmap with customer needs, market trends, and Microsoft's broader AI strategy. Translate complex technical AI concepts into clear product value for customers and stakeholders.Β
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration.Β Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Product Marketing, and partner teams to deliver high-quality experiences from ideation through general availability. Foster cooperative relationships across organizations to ensure alignment and successful execution.Β
  • Deeply understand customers and the market. Use both quantitative signals (usage telemetry, engagement metrics) and qualitative insights (customer interviews, feedback channels, industry analysis) to identify unmet needs and opportunities. Apply AI-powered research and analysis to uncover patterns, anticipate customer preferences, and inform product strategy.Β
  • Build and prototype with AI. Go beyond traditional product management, use AI tools to independently create MVPs, proof-of-concepts, and prototypes that explore new interaction patterns for agent experiences. Leverage generative AI to rapidly test product hypotheses before committing engineering resources.Β
  • Take products to market with impact. Develop go-to-market strategies for new capabilities, collaborating with Product Marketing and Business Planning on release criteria, customer acquisition, and adoption plans. Evangelize intelligent action features through presentations, blog posts, customer briefings, and industry events.Β
  • Measure, learn, and iterate. Define success metrics (OKRs, KPIs) for your feature areas, monitor product performance, and use data-driven insights to continuously refine the product. Understand cost structures and profitability drivers to make informed investment tradeoffs.Β
  • Champion responsible AI.Β Ensure that AI-driven features meet quality, security, privacy, and ethical standards. Integrate security considerations into product design and proactively mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle.Β
