Job Purpose

  • National Grid is seeking an adaptable and results-oriented Lead Product Manager for the GridForce product to lead a crossfunctional Product Team with end to end ownership and accountability for the Product
  • You will enable your team to take a "speed wins" approach to building and shipping features that strikes the right balance between time to value and delivering effective functionality.
  • You will make tough trade-off decisions that result in both a successful initial launch and quick, data-driven iteration.
  • You will connect your team's work back to objectives the management team cares about, helping the project team to clearly understand the importance of their work. You will effectively leverage user feedback to uncover unmet needs, to validate a new concept, or to improve an existing product. You will work very close with the Business Product Owner for GridForce.
  • You can effectively leverage user feedback to not only get feedback on individual features, but to help inform your team's roadmap.
  • You will be responsible for the outcomes driven by your team, with the ability to make effective adjustments to direction or process to maximize those team outcomes. As your team is hitting diminishing returns, you will recommend where to shift that investment.

Key Accountabilities

Β 

  • Lead a cross functional Product team one or more squads within a larger cross functional Product Team
  • Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of innovative digital solutions
  • Work with strategic design to gain an understanding of user personas, pain points and journeys knowing how that informs the roadmap
  • Provide insights into product, technology, and market trends
  • Develop feature lists, user stories, and roadmaps associated with GridForce and other possible Salesforce/portal products
  • Gather and manage product feedback through surveys, concept testing, analytics tools, and A/B testing
  • Monitor and report on product KPIs
  • You will set and achieve meaningful OKR's for your product and the team
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions
  • Assist with the development of business cases and operating plans
  • Assist in the development of materials to communicate progress to executives

  • Able to influence and manage internal and external stakeholders
  • A good track record of interfacing with direct and third-party suppliers delivering services in onshore/offshore model

Qualifications

Β 

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-8 years of product management experience
  • Experience in Salesforce preference is at least 5 years, and also experience with Energy and Utilities Cloud
  • Experience leading larger product teams, delivering in a multi-squad product model
  • Experience using influence without authority in the broader organization to unblock product teams
  • A strong understanding of agile development methodologies and the software development lifecycle
  • A demonstrated and focused desire to build products and services that customers will love
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) as well as storytelling skills
  • The capacity for self-motivation, independent initiative and creative problem-solving
  • The ability to manage time and schedules to meet deadlines
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and intellectually demanding environment
