Insurance Product Manager – Lead

Job Summary:

The Product Manager organizes and analyzes data to develop product recommendations in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic goals. The Product Manager is also responsible for mentoring product analysts and product specialists.

Job Duties:

Facilitates a work environment that fosters and supports ethical decision-making and actions by motivating, promoting, and modeling ethical behavior, as well as executing job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen’s core values, ethics, and information protection policies.

Evaluates results, data, market research, internal and external feedback, and other information to identify product changes and other action plans to improve Citizens’ financial results and ensure Citizens’ products are appropriate to its role in the market. Develops and presents appropriate recommendations to department management.

Conducts and analyzes market research, incorporates other information and reports to Citizens’ management and other internal and external stakeholders.

Leads cross-functional teams to implement product changes and other plans to support Citizens’ strategy. Guides or completes submission and approval of rate, rule, and forms filings. Develops and presents appropriate recommendations to department management.

Ensures successful communication of product information and changes to internal and external stakeholders. Provides detailed information required to support and develop communications and training plans. Conducts training sessions and provides ongoing subject matter expertise for internal and external stakeholders.

Provides mentoring, coaching, and guidance to Product Analysts and Product Specialists, as needed. Participates in performance review process.

Knowledge Required:Β 

Strong working knowledge of insurance coverages and various policy types including ISO-based policies and endorsements.

Knowledge of personal/commercial property insurance including matters of coverage, claims, underwriting, valuation assessment, legal climate, and property insurance laws.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including advanced Excel skills.

Well-developed organizational and meeting management skills.

Relevant Experience Required:

7 or more years of professional property insurance experience in product development, contract analysis, claims or property insurance underwriting to include 3 years in personal and/or commercial lines. ** Additional education may count towards experience. **

Education Required:Β High School Diploma | GED.

AND a bachelor’s degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years.

Preferred Experience:

β€’ Familiarity with personal building valuation methods as well as ISO classifications.Β 

β€’ In depth knowledge of Florida property insurance marketΒ 

β€’ In-depth experience developing insurance contract language and filing forms.Β 

β€’ Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or other insurance designation

Scope/Complexity of Work:

What percentage of time is accountable for long-term strategic planning? 10%
